Aloha!
This is Coconut Glen Omotesando store.
Well, in this first blog post, I would like to briefly introduce the ingredients and calories of Coconut Glenn ice cream.
All of Coconut Glen's ice cream is vegan (i.e. plant-based), dairy-free, and made entirely from organic coconut milk.
By the way, the coconut water you often see at beach resorts comes from young green coconuts, while coconut milk comes from brown coconuts that are even more ripe than the green ones. Did you know? I only found out when I went to this shop...
Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids!
The best thing about coconut milk ice cream is that it is rich in medium-chain fatty acids . Medium-chain fatty acids are well known to be found in coconut oil. You can find them on the shelves of supermarkets under the name MCT oil.
Coconut oil is made by extracting only the fat from coconut milk, so the milk contains the same components as the oil.
We'll leave the scientific explanation of medium-chain fatty acids to the specialist brands , but to put it very simply, medium-chain fatty acids are a type of lipid, but a characteristic of coconut-derived oil is that they are generally not easily stored as fat.
So even those on a diet can enjoy it guilt-free!
All of Coconut Glen's flavors are based on ice cream made from this coconut milk.
No matter which flavor you choose, you'll get a good amount of medium-chain fatty acids, which is what sets it apart from milk ice cream.

How many calories in coconut gren?
Finally, let's talk about the calories in coconut gren.
To make it easier to understand, let's compare Coconut Glen's vanilla ice cream with the rich vanilla ice cream you can buy at a convenience store...
Per gram, coconut grain vanilla ice cream has slightly fewer calories.
In Manakana terms, it's about the same difference as Mana and Kana.
Oh, and of course the calorie count will vary slightly depending on the flavor, but the calorie count won't change significantly.
Well, it's not low in calories like diet food, but that's because it doesn't contain any additives and uses organic and natural ingredients as much as possible.
So it's also a healthy ice cream. (So the price may be a little high. We'll try to sell it in the future...)
Coconut oil is getting a lot of attention in Japan, but I feel like coconut milk hasn't gotten that much attention yet. I think that's probably because recipes and ways of consuming coconut milk aren't common.
So, if you've read this article, why not take this opportunity to incorporate coconut milk into your daily routine? (Coconut Glen with ice cream)
